 4-H Shellfish Curriculum: Oyster Model 

4-H in partnership with SAM was developing a curriculum to introduce aquaculture in Maryland to K-12 students.  They approached TW to design, prototype, and manufacture a hands-on curriculum aid that would be included in physical teaching kits.

A NIST researcher inquired the TW Design Team to develop an electrochemical cell to be used in scientific research, specifically in neutron reflectometry experiments on thin films.

Sustainability Bike Solar Panel Holder

The UMD Sustainability Department has assembled a sustainability bike that they hope to bring around campus to promote sustainability initiatives to students. The bike contains a solar panel that allows students to charge their laptop battery. They asked TW to design and develop an attachment to support the solar panel onto the bike.

Tissue Dissociator

A biology student asked the TW Design Team to design a tissue dissociator that would speed up the number of tissue samples that she could process at once. The dissociator is made of a gearbox system and motor that can rotate multiple test tubes at the same speed and direction.
